Abstract or Figurative?

1 month ago   |   By 60 Years of Making Art

I am working in the Vandiver Gallery 5 days a week where I meet new art lovers. Many are Spanish speaking. I do live in Mexico, and it is my responsibility to speak their language.
Many of the visitors also speak English and they kindly ask me where I am from. My accent gives me away. I do go to a private Spanish conversation class once a week, but I still need a lot more practice. Path to the greenhouse

Path to the greenhouse 8" x 10"
Still loving this series of autumn paintings at the allotments, on this day I made a new friend, and this is Don's greenhouse. Again with the low sun I was looking at a dazzling effect through the glass against the rich darks of the fences, sheds and houses behind.
I really enjoy a lot of the marks I've made in this painting, as well as the colour palette which feels suitably rich and autumnal.

New Mexico Cloudy Day

New Mexico Cloudy Day

"New Mexico Cloudy Day", 8 x 10 In, Oil on Museum Board
This is a painting from a couple of months ago. I have many paintings from a couple of months ago but I haven't posted many being busy with so many other things. I have a system of keeping track of the paintings which includes putting a date on the back and photographing them. I also enter them in a database and a spreadsheet and track the date I blog or post on FB. I'm curious how other artists keep track of their paintings!
